Further Information

A beautiful Eco lodge located in one of the most spectacular parts of Wales.
Powered by the sun and biomass fuel, everything is environmentally friendly.
The river Marteg flows through the large garden. Otters live nearby and salmon swim past to spawn in Winter.
The lodge is on the edge of St.Harmon village just below Gilfach nature reserve and a short drive from the Elan Valley.
The lodge was designed for low impact living by the Centre for Alternative Technology ( CAT ) in Machynlleth.
Everything from the build, the local timbers used, the paint, recycled furniture, fixtures, fittings and appliances are super eco. Most of it powered by the sun and biomass wood pellets.
Heating is from a wonderful wood pellet stove which self ignites at the flick of a switch.
The walls and floor are super insulated using "Warmcel" insulation made from recycled newspapers and cardboard. Triple glazed with passive solar heating via the conservatory that spans the length of the south side.
