The Phoenix Studio/Suite is the finished east end of our newest Demonstration Earthship here at Greater World Community. The main part of The Phoenix is still being built but the first two eastern most room and the east bath are complete. It is fully equipped but without a kitchen so we provide menus from various restaurants around Taos so that you may carry out and bring back to the Studio/Suite. Staying in the Phoenix Studio/Suite affords you the rare opportunity of both experiencing life in an Earthshipand a glimpse of how they are built . You are welcome to tour the completion of the mid and west end of this 5,000 sq. ft. Earthship during your stay. You may view the construction part of the site and ask questions of the crew if you are there on a weekday. We have had many requests for viewing the building of an Earthship so this is our answer to these requests.
Important Information on Arrival Times and Payments: Keep in mind that our arrival times fall between the hours of 2 - 4pm so plan your travel accordingly. For instance, if you will be flying into Albuquerque allow about 4 hours between landing and arriving at our Visitors Center. (Our community is only a 15 minute drive from Taos). This will give you ample time to deal with luggage issues, renting a car, traffic and/or any delays between Albuquerque and Taos. It¹s a wee bit of a trek but WELL worth it. You¹ll have a blast!
Payment in full is expected to reserve your dates. If you need to cancel for some reason, our policy is that if you notify us at least 24 hrs. in advance you may have a standing credit for rescheduling anytime in the future as there are no refunds. You may also transfer your credit to a friend or use the credit to purchase materials from our Earthship Store. (Regarding pets, we require a $100 refundable fee for pets.)
