September 2015 saw the introduction of the new Borders Railway, allowing passengers to take a train from Stow to Edinburgh Waverley in approx. 42 minutes. Thus making Stow an excellent place to commute from, so as to be able to enjoy both the country and the city.
We have lived here since we built it in 2009 and it is perfect for family life. The many rooms allow for flexibility in how you wish to live. It is similar to a Passive House and on a sunny day the house warms up nicely, also generating a good supply of hot water.
All bathrooms have modern fixtures and fittings and the kitchen is a lovely place to cook with a forward facing hob within a very large island unit.
On the ground floor we have a practical utility room as well as a number of storage cupboards around the house.
From the back garden you can step over the stile and enjoy walks over the nearby hills, without ever needing to get into a car.
Stow is a lovely village in the Scottish Borders with a vibrant and active local community. One of the highlights of the year being the Sports Week, which has run every June for almost 130 years!
