CROFTON LOCK HOUSE FAQ
Being close to water has the property or garden been flooded?
It has never been flooded, nor is ever likely to be, as the canal water levels are controlled by a weir which diverts surplus water into a stream which flows between the canal and railway on the opposite side from the property. This stream takes any surplus water to the level below the lock. The level of the canal immediately outside the house is several feet below the bottom levels of the house.
Who owns the surrounding farmland?
The land is owned by Ramsbury Estates, but is farmed by a tenant farmer, Mr Robert Vines.
